LilPad collects nothing. No personal data, no usage data, no analytics, no crash reports, no identifiers. There is no LilStudio server, no account, and no third-party SDK. The app talks only to the Mac you choose.

How LilPad connects to your Mac

LilPad uses the Screen Sharing service built into macOS. It looks for Macs on your local network using Bonjour and connects directly to the one you pick. The connection stays on your local network; it never passes through the internet or any server of ours.

Over that connection LilPad sends only input: pointer movements, clicks, scrolls, and a few standard keyboard shortcuts (for example Mission Control or zoom). It never requests, receives, or records an image of your Mac's screen.

iOS asks for Local Network permission the first time, because LilPad needs it to find and reach your Mac. It is used for nothing else.

Your Mac sign-in

To connect, you sign in with your Mac username and password. The password is stored in your iPhone's Keychain, protected by iOS, and is sent only to your Mac, encrypted using the Screen Sharing sign-in that macOS provides. It is never sent anywhere else. The name of your Mac and your username are saved in the app's local settings so it can reconnect.

What LilPad stores on your iPhone

Your settings — tracking and scroll speed, natural scrolling, tap to click, haptics, theme, which gestures are on, and whether the trackpad is locked — are saved locally using the standard iOS preferences system. They never leave your iPhone. Deleting the app removes them.

What LilPad does not do

It does not view, capture, or record your Mac's screen or your iPhone's screen.
It does not connect to the internet or to any LilStudio server.
It does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party SDKs.
It does not access your contacts, photos, location, camera, or microphone.

Children

LilPad is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes on the App Store.
