Setting up
- On your Mac, open System Settings → General → Sharing and turn on Screen Sharing.
- Make sure your iPhone and Mac are on the same Wi‑Fi network (or the Mac is on your iPhone's Personal Hotspot).
- Open LilPad, tap your Mac, and sign in with your Mac username and password.
My Mac doesn't show up
- Check that Screen Sharing is on, and that both devices are on the same network.
- Allow Local Network access for LilPad in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
- Use Enter address manually and type your Mac's IP address or hostname (shown in the Sharing settings on your Mac).
“Wrong username or password”
Use the short or full name of a user account on the Mac and that account's login password, and make sure that user is allowed in the Screen Sharing settings (“Allow access for”).
The pointer feels slow, fast, or laggy
- Adjust Tracking speed and Scroll speed in LilPad's settings (the gear at the top).
- A busy or distant Wi‑Fi network adds delay. Moving closer to the router, or using the iPhone's Personal Hotspot, usually helps.
Gestures
- Click & drag: rest one finger and move another, touch and hold then move, or tap then touch again and move.
- Mission Control and desktops: swipe with three or four fingers. These use the standard Mac shortcuts (⌃↑, ⌃↓, ⌃← and ⌃→), so they must be enabled in the Mac's Keyboard Shortcuts settings.
- Turn any gesture on or off in Settings → Gestures & more.
The lock
Tap the lock at the top to hide the controls and keep the current orientation. To unlock, press and hold the lock until the bar at the top fills.
