LilDock Support
Your Dock, in the Mac menu bar.
Getting started
LilDock has no window. After launching, it appears as a strip of icons in your menu bar, next to Wi-Fi and the clock. Right-click the strip and choose Settings to add apps from your Applications folder or from what's open right now, and drag them to reorder. Click an app to open it, or to bring it forward if it's already running.
Common questions
How do I hide the macOS Dock?
In Settings, click Copy & Open Terminal, then paste and press Return. The Dock stays away, even at the bottom edge. To bring it back, use the button right under it and do the same.
Why does hiding the Dock go through Terminal?
LilDock is sandboxed for the App Store, so it isn't allowed to change another app's settings, the Dock included. It copies the one-line command for you instead.
Can the strip sit on the left or in the middle?
No. macOS puts menu bar items like LilDock on the right. Hold ⌘ and drag the strip to move it among the other icons there; it remembers where you left it.
My MacBook has a notch and some icons are missing.
The icons size themselves to your menu bar's height, but the space left of the notch is limited and macOS hides items that don't fit. Keep the list to the apps you really reach for, or lower the icon size and spacing in Settings.
Does it need any permissions?
No prompts at all. It doesn't use Accessibility or Screen Recording and doesn't read other apps' settings. It can see the apps you pick and your Downloads folder, read-only.
Will it slow my Mac down?
It's one small menu bar item. It never polls or runs timers; it only wakes up when an app launches or quits, or when you point at it.
How do I uninstall it?
If you hid the macOS Dock, bring it back first from Settings. Then quit LilDock and drag it from your Applications folder to the Trash.
