Getting started

LilVibe has no window. After launching, look for its icon in your menu bar. Click it to pick a scene, play or pause, change the volume, turn video on or off, match your wallpaper, or launch at login.

Common questions

I can hear the sound but the desktop isn't moving.

Check that Video is on in the menu. LilVibe also pauses video on purpose when something covers the desktop: a full-screen app, a maximized window, a sleeping display, or a locked screen. If Pause on Battery is on, video stops when you unplug. Show the desktop and it picks up again.

My original wallpaper didn't come back.

If you used your own photo, turn wallpaper matching off and it's restored. Some of Apple's built-in wallpapers can't be restored reliably because of a macOS bug — for example, several landscape wallpapers come back as a different one, and dynamic wallpapers can come back as the wrong variant. Open System Settings → Wallpaper and pick yours again.

The scene doesn't reach one of my displays.

LilVibe covers every connected display and follows changes as they happen. If a display was added while the app was paused, pick the scene again from the menu. If it still doesn't appear, email us with your macOS version and display setup.

Does LilVibe use a lot of battery?

It shouldn't. Video is decoded by your Mac's media hardware, once for all displays, and stops whenever it's hidden. For the lightest setting, turn video off: you keep a still picture and the sound.

Can I adjust the individual sounds?

Not yet. Each scene ships with a tuned mix. Per-layer volume is planned for a later update.

How do I stop LilVibe from starting automatically?

Turn off Launch at Login in the menu. You can also remove it under System Settings → General → Login Items.

How do I uninstall it?

Turn wallpaper matching off first so your wallpaper is restored, quit LilVibe from its menu, then drag the app from your Applications folder to the Trash.
